The Zipper Hotel & Apartments in Düsseldorf is making waves with its innovative use of technology. Since opening in November 2023, it has operated efficiently with just six staff members, thanks to the employee and guest experience tool Like Magic.

The platform, provided by an unidentified company, enables real-time monitoring and instant solutions for digital guest journey problems. It uses a traffic light system for customer service and property management, ensuring swift responses to any issues. Like Magic also facilitates rapid staff onboarding, with new team members fully trained in just a day and a half.

The Zipper Hotel & Apartments has embraced a totally digital guest journey, with 70% of guests preferring WhatsApp as their primary means of communication. The platform offers a booking engine, guest platform, employee interface, and monitoring tools all in one place, streamlining operations and reducing the need for a large workforce. Despite its minimal staff, the hotel has received glowing reviews, boasting a Google ranking of 4.6 out of 5 and an impressive 8.8 on Booking.com.

Meanwhile, in Hong Kong, The Hari Hong Kong has launched an audio walking guide exploring Wan Chai. The guide, narrated by the hotel's founder Dr Aron Harilela, offers a unique perspective on the neighbourhood.
