Weekly Highlight: Crusader Recognition

In the year 2025, Mia Burgio, a Chemistry major, is set to graduate from Holy Cross College. Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Mia has a deep-rooted connection with her hometown, which is reflected in her post-graduation plans.

Mia resides in a room affectionately known as the "Josh Allen room." While the connection between Holy Cross and Josh Allen, the professional football quarterback, is unclear, Mia's room bears his name. The significance of this namesake remains undetermined, as there is no publicly known connection between Josh Allen and Holy Cross College.

Mia's favourite spot on campus is the Main Reading Room in Dinand Library, where she spends countless hours engrossed in her studies. One item on her Holy Cross bucket list is to climb to the top of the O'kane clock tower.

Mia's day begins with brushing her teeth, followed by her favourite colour, pink, brightening up her morning. Her favourite class at Holy Cross has been Advanced Organic Chemistry, a challenging but rewarding course that she has excelled in.

When it comes to food, Mia has a soft spot for the Chicken Parm served at Holy Cross, and her favourite off-campus restaurant is The Sole Proprietor. Her guilty pleasure is Diet Coke, and she can't resist the catchy beats of Rihanna's "Stay" as her favourite song.

Mia is an avid sports fan, cheering for her hometown team, the Buffalo Bills. Her favourite memory at Holy Cross involves showing up to all the sporting events wearing a purple wig and morph suit, adding a touch of fun and excitement to the atmosphere.

Mia's favourite TV show is "Shrinking," a series that resonates with her as she prepares to embark on her post-graduation journey. Her friends make her day better, and she looks forward to seeing her family when she goes home.

However, Mia has one wish for Holy Cross – to swap Pepsi products for Coke. And surprisingly, she doesn't have a favourite Cool Beans Drink or read books. Despite this, Mia's vibrant personality, love for her hometown, and passion for Chemistry make her a unique and cherished member of the Holy Cross community.

Her favourite travel destination is Cape Cod, a place where she finds peace and relaxation, much like the serene environment of the Main Reading Room in Dinand Library. As Mia prepares to move back to Buffalo and work as a carnie, her mantra, "Be the One," serves as a reminder to make a difference and leave a lasting impact wherever she goes.
