Unveiling the Latest Visa Breakthrough: Pakistan and UAE Ditch Visa Requirements for Diplomatic Passport Holders

Great news for diplomats! The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Pakistan reached an understanding on June 25, 2025, that eliminates the need for visa applications for holders of diplomatic and official passports from both countries. This means that these passport holders can now freely enter the UAE without having to deal with cumbersome visa paperwork.

While it's the UAE that's making headlines now, the Pakistani passport already offers a variety of visa-free or visa-on-arrival travel options to numerous countries. According to Henley and Partners, a well-known passport ranking platform, the Pakistani passport currently ranks 100, granting visa-free access to 32 nations.

Visa Privileges: A Closer Look

But what exactly does "visa-free" entail? Well, it's a destination where you can enter without needing any sort of visa. There are also electronic travel authorizations (ETA), where you'll need to apply digitally before your departure. Then there's visa on arrival and e-visa, both requiring a visa, but you can apply online or receive it upon landing. The rest of the time, you'll have to apply the old-fashioned way.
