Oldenburg Cultural Summer Festival 2025 Kicks Off with a Vibrant Celebration
The charming city of Oldenburg, Holstein is set to host the Oldenburg Cultural Summer Festival 2025 from the 5th of July to the 6th of September. This year's festival promises a diverse programme filled with cultural delights, art, and entertainment for all ages.
The festivities begin with a warm-up on Friday, 4th July. The Oldenburger Spielmannszug will provide musical accompaniment for the opening event, which takes place on Pumpenplatz at 5:00 PM. Mayor Jörg Saba and Mirko Franck from KulTour gGmbH will perform the official opening, followed by the Heiligenhafener Gildkapelle taking over with more music.
The main festival day is on Saturday, 5th July, with activities running from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The town hall area will be transformed into a family-friendly zone, featuring a bouncy castle, interactive activities, and an Aquazorb arena for children. The winners of this year's city cycling competition will be announced during the opening, and DJ Mirko will entertain the children and families at the disco from 4:00 PM.
Saturday's evening entertainment will see SITTING BULL take to the Pumpenplatz stage at 8:00 PM, delivering a live concert filled with rock classics performed with wit and skill.
Throughout the festival, visitors can enjoy a variety of activities, including clownery, magic, balloon art, children's animation, live music, dance performances, an ADAC Oldie meeting, regional cuisine, and moderation by Mirko Meier.
Markus "Obbe" Obladen will also perform live music and pan playing during the festival. The Tanzschule Beuck and the Bewegungsatelier will present dance performances, adding to the festival's lively atmosphere.
A special event tied to the festival is Kochen am Schloss from 27 to 30 August, a culinary cultural program held at the castle grounds, enriching the festival with more festive experiences.
