The connection between Cordoba and Barcelona via Vueling's flight, along with the subsequent international link, is now a confirmed service
Cordoba Opens Door to the World with New Barcelona Route
Cordoba, Spain, has taken a significant step forward in its communications, as a new route connecting the city with Barcelona officially became operational this week. The new service, operated by Vueling, promises to open a window to the world for Cordoba, according to Salvador Fuentes, the president of the Cordoba Provincial Council.
The new route will connect Cordoba with a host of exciting cities, including Rome, Berlin, Paris, Athens, Lisbon, London, and more. The first flight of Vueling on this route has already landed at the Cordoba airport, marking the beginning of this exciting new connection.
The new route offers two flights per week, with departures from Cordoba taking place on Thursdays at 15:25 and Sundays at 14:20. Return flights from Barcelona depart at 13:10 on Thursdays and 12:05 on Sundays, arriving in Cordoba at 14:50 on Thursdays and 13:45 on Sundays. The flight duration is approximately two hours.
President Fuentes thanked Vueling for their commitment to flying to Cordoba, while Vueling's head of public affairs, Rosaura Ferriz, expressed her joy at starting the new route and strengthening their position in the Andalusian region. The sub-delegate of the government in Cordoba, Ana López, valued the investment in the airport and expressed satisfaction with the new route.
The mayor of Cordoba, José María Bellido, congratulated the city on the new route and expressed confidence in its success. The Secretary General of Tourism of the Junta de Andalucía, Yolanda de Aguilar, also expressed her satisfaction with the new route. The director of the Cordoba airport, Amelia Quintero, acknowledged the preparation of the airport for the new route.
The new route allows access to an international hub of up to 180 destinations operated by Vueling from Josep Tarradellas-El Prat Airport. The inaugural flight had an occupancy rate of almost 170 passengers out of 180 available seats, which bodes well for the future success of the route.
Vueling is the first airline to operate in all the airports of Andalusia, further cementing their position as a key player in the region's aviation industry. As Cordoba embarks on this new journey, it looks forward to welcoming more passengers and forging new connections with the world.
