Study: 44% of Women Find Work-Life Balance Unattainable, Expert Shares Solutions

A recent study by Appino and 5050 by OMR reveals that 44 percent of women find work and private life incompatible. The research also highlights that 62 percent of women handle care work mainly on their own. Stefanie Lohaus, author of 'Papa kann auch stillen', shares her insights on balancing work and family life.

Lohaus, who equally shares child-rearing responsibilities with her partner, encourages men to consider their role in part-time work and family life. She returned to her job three months after the birth of her first child, demonstrating that a balance is possible with the right support.

The study found that 66 percent of women cite the compatibility of work and private life as their main concern, with 55 percent fearing potential overload. Lohaus believes companies should change their view on part-time work to support working parents. She and her partner use a weekly plan and Excel tables to organize their shared life with work and kids.

The study by Appino and 5050 by OMR underscores the challenges women face in balancing work and family life. Lohaus's experiences and views highlight the need for societal and workplace changes to support both women and men in their roles as parents and employees.
