Introducing the Roots to Regeneration Transition Accelerator

In an exciting development for the farming community, the Roots to Regeneration Transition Accelerator program is set to launch in February 2024. This innovative program offers a direct path for farmers to address their urgent needs and transition to a truly regenerative model.

Co-designed and led by Caroline Grindrod of Roots of Nature and Clare Hill of Planton Farm, the program is designed to feed farmers back into their natural capacity to work with complex whole systems. It emphasizes sustainable, optimal productivity, resilience, healthy soil, plants, and livestock, nutrient-dense harvests, economic rewards, social harmony, and community value.

The program consists of farm-based training days, live discussions, expert sessions, self-led online learning, fortnightly coaching, and peer-to-peer mentorship. It offers guidance and solutions for farmers transitioning to a 100% pasture-fed system, providing them with the tools to overcome obstacles and bypass unsuccessful strategies.

Planton Farm in Shropshire has already been transformed into a model regenerative farm, and it offers workshops, mentoring, and the Roots to Regeneration Transition Accelerator program. Farmers can contact Clare Hill at [email protected] for more information.

Meanwhile, farmers can contact Caroline Grindrod at [email protected] for details about the program. The program's aim is to support farmers in making the shift to a regenerative model, offering proven practices and principles that enable more effective decision-making for this transition.

The Roots to Regeneration Transition Accelerator program appears to share similarities with the Regenerative Agriculture Accelerator Programme (RAAP) described for the Cotswolds region in the UK. RAAP supports farmers transitioning to regenerative agriculture by offering a structured, peer-supported program that fosters learning, practical application, and community-building around regenerative and agroecological principles.

By bringing together small, diverse groups of farmers and advisors from different farming systems and transition stages, enabling peer-to-peer learning and mutual support, RAAP offers practical skills training in areas such as soil health, weatherproof farming, and agronomy. It also provides access to expertise from leading regenerative practitioners, including international experts, and training in facilitation, team building, project management, and media communication to empower farmers as advocates and leaders.

The program encourages participation in broader regenerative agriculture events and conferences to expand learning and networks. Its core goal is to accelerate the transition to regenerative farming by building confident, connected, and knowledgeable farmers who learn from both peers and specialists.

While the specific "Roots to Regeneration Transition Accelerator" name does not appear verbatim in the search results, the description of RAAP fits this concept: an accelerator designed to aid farmers in shifting from conventional to regenerative agriculture through education, community, and practical experience.

Regenerative agriculture transition programs generally focus on enhancing soil health, biodiversity, and farm resilience while ensuring economic viability for farmers, often including facilitation of financial or technical support, peer networks, and access to innovative practices.

In summary, such accelerator programs empower farmers transitioning to regenerative agriculture by providing education and training on regenerative principles and practices, peer support and community learning, practical farm-based learning (tours, clinics, workshops), access to expert knowledge and innovation, capacity building in leadership, communication, and project management, and opportunities to engage with wider regenerative agriculture networks and events.

The program aims to help farmers unlock a unique way forward that fits their own unique context.
