Peel Welcomes New Café, Traa Dy Liooar, This Weekend
Peel is set to welcome a new coffee shop, Traa Dy Liooar, this weekend. The café, owned by Sarah and Ja, will serve homemade bundt cakes and freshly brewed coffee. Sarah, who has supplied cakes to cafés across the island for over 15 years, has finally realized her dream of opening her own shop.
Ja, a builder with 25 years of experience, has taken on much of the renovation work himself. The shop, located at the former Hong Kong Delight premises on Atholl Place, now has a homely feel. Sarah's popular Guinness bundt cake will be among the homemade treats on offer, alongside a variety of other delights. The café will open on Saturday and Sunday this weekend, with regular hours starting the following week. However, it will be closed on Monday to assess the opening and allow the owners to rest.
Traa Dy Liooar, which means 'time enough' in Manx, reflects Sarah's vision for a relaxed atmosphere. The café opening is a family affair, with family members helping and supporting Ja and Sarah. The island's residents and visitors alike can look forward to enjoying Sarah's delicious bundt cakes and freshly brewed coffee in the heart of Peel.
