Partnership between Emirates and flydubai Achieves 5 Million Passengers, Signifying Enhanced Cooperation
In a significant stride towards Dubai's D33 vision, the strategic partnership between Emirates and flydubai has achieved remarkable milestones, enhancing global trade and tourism footprints by connecting the city to over 400 destinations worldwide.
Since the alliance began in 2017, the combined network of Emirates and flydubai has served over 240 destinations in more than 100 countries. Customers can now choose from an average of 295 daily codeshare flights between the two carriers. Over the past seven years, this partnership has flown 5 million passengers across their joint network, representing a 36% increase compared to the previous year.
One of the key achievements of this partnership is the expansion of destinations and connectivity. flydubai, the first UAE carrier to resume flights to Damascus, Syria, in June 2025, marked the restoration of air links between the two countries after nearly 12 years. This move added new connectivity options for travelers and strengthened regional ties.
The partnership’s growth is also reflected in enhanced service offerings and increased passenger volumes. Emirates Skywards, the joint loyalty program of Emirates and flydubai, has expanded its premium experience portfolio. Skywards members now enjoy exclusive access to premium hospitality tickets at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena, providing exceptional value beyond just flights and fostering loyalty among premium travelers.
Emirates Skywards received multiple awards in 2025, including Best Global Airline Loyalty Program at the International Loyalty Awards. Their strategic partnerships, such as with Coca-Cola Arena, enrich member experiences through exclusive entertainment options, thereby supporting growth in premium travel demand and enhancing customer engagement.
Travellers using the combined network of Emirates and flydubai can enjoy integrated loyalty programs, streamlined check-ins, and seamless baggage transfers through Dubai Airport's Terminal 3. Emirates has recently launched new flights to Bogota and Antananarivo, while flydubai has announced 10 new summer destinations including Antalya, Basel, and Al Alamein.
Strong demand for premium cabins has resulted in a 31% increase in premium travel on both carriers. H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Group and Chairman of flydubai, has praised the partnership as a "gamechanger."
In summary, the Emirates-flydubai partnership has significantly expanded flight options and improved the passenger experience. These developments reinforce their position as leading carriers in the region, offering enriched travel options for a growing global customer base.
