Ornate Floral Masterpieces Adorned With Grace
In the captivating world of floristry, Decorum Plants & Flowers is set to unveil a 12-part documentary series titled A Path to Floral Mastery. This groundbreaking series promises to showcase the technical aspects of floristry and the passion behind the art.
Decorum, renowned for their commitment to premium quality, sustainability, and innovation in plants, will be the producers of this inspiring series. The identities of the twelve documentary filmmakers involved in the project are yet to be disclosed.
One of the key players in this series is Janity Flowers, who produces 13.5 million spray Chrysanthemums of one specific variety each year to maintain the highest level of quality. Their Chrysanthemum Kennedy, known for its long vase life, is a testament to their dedication.
The series will also delve into the world of Gerberas. Villa Gerbera, specialists in large-flowered Gerberas, offers a unique variety known as the Power Ball®, along with the spider-like variety, Spider. On the other hand, Oudijk Gerbera focuses on top-quality mini Gerberas, boasting over fifty Germini varieties.
Phalaenopsis, with their striped or speckled blooms, are another flower type that will feature prominently in the series. These flowers, available in colours ranging from purple to yellow, are grown by Decorum growers such as Bernhard Planten and Duijn-Hove.
Villa Curcuma, the only Dutch growers specializing in Curcuma cut flowers, will also be showcased. Their greenhouse mimics a tropical climate to suit the flower's Thai origin, and they harvest flowers ranging from 55 to 75 cm in length, with seven varieties available from week 1 to week 40.
The series will not only highlight the beauty of these flowers but also the artistry that goes into creating breathtaking floral arrangements. Floral artists like Christian Ulrich and Joseph Massie will be featured, showcasing their unique approaches to floral design. Ulrich, for instance, has created a fresh combination of flowers in various colours, lengths, and textures, while Massie has crafted an inspirational white centerpiece using white Curcuma.
Decorum's offerings are more than just flowers; they are the building blocks for florists to create living artworks that set the mood and create lasting memories. With A Path to Floral Mastery, viewers will have a front-row seat to this extraordinary journey.
However, it's important to note that warm transportation at 15°C or higher is required for harvesting flowers at Villa Curcuma to ensure their freshness. This underscores the care and attention to detail that goes into every aspect of Decorum's floristry.
