In a significant stride towards strengthening the healthcare system, the "Code Donor. Patriots of Russia" campaign has been launched as part of the "Patriots of Russia" project. This nationwide initiative encourages Russian citizens to donate blood for typing, with the aim of replenishing the Federal Registry of Bone Marrow Donors.

The campaign is open to any Russian citizen aged 18 to 45, weighing over 50 kg, with no contraindications. This year, the campaign has expanded beyond local student groups, involving all directions of the Russian Student Brigades in a nationwide effort.

The importance of this campaign lies in its potential to save lives. Each new person in the registry provides an additional chance of survival for seriously ill patients in need of a bone marrow transplant from an unrelated donor. In Russia, where registries have been historically smaller than in some Western countries, national campaigns like "Code Donor" play an essential role in expanding donor pools and saving lives.

Mariana Vlasova, a participant in the action and a member of the student pedagogical detachment "Vozhatsky Pereplet", believes that blood donation is a display of civic responsibility and solidarity, vital for strengthening the culture of mutual aid, care, and involvement in society's life. The RS movement actively supports the promotion of all types of donation, including bone marrow donation.

Julia Drozhzhina, a member of the State Duma Committee on Health and the chairman of the RSO board, emphasized the importance of open and honest communication about the donation process. She stated that each new person in the registry provides an additional chance of survival for seriously ill patients in need of a bone marrow transplant from an unrelated donor.

The country is currently implementing large-scale projects to expand bone marrow donation, which is one of the key tasks of the healthcare system. The campaign's success can be seen in the participation of over 1,000 students from 18 regions last year, and the recent involvement of the Omsk Regional Student Brigade, where 19 members donated blood on August 1st.

Approximately 2,000 Russians face severe oncological and hematological diseases each year, for which the only chance of recovery is a bone marrow transplant from an unrelated donor. Finding a suitable donor is extremely difficult, with the probability of a match being only 1 in 10,000. Campaigns like "Code Donor. Patriots of Russia" aim to bridge this gap and provide hope for those in need.
