Just remember, these prices are either the cheapest or average fares during summer 2025. (Ljubljana will be added to the EuroNight itinerary in the second half of 2025.)
Go south, my friends:
You can also take night trains to Italy, such as from Geneva/Lausanne to Verona at 130 CHF per person or to Rome at 260 CHF.
France,mon amour:
Travel from Geneva to Marseilles for around 180 CHF using TGV Lyria, or for the same price to Aix-en-Provence. Closer locations like Lyon, Dijon, and Paris are typically traveled during the day with the TGV.
A Few Things to Consider Before Setting Sail (Train, That Is):
Maintenance works in various locations can disrupt your travel plans. For instance, from July 26th to September 5th, IC trains from Zurich to Stuttgart will terminate in Stuttgart Vaihingen, and passengers will need to change to the S-Bahn in Vaihingen.
From August 26th to September 5th, the route between Buchenau and Fürstenfeldbruck (Buchloe-Munich line) will be closed to rail traffic due to track maintenance. The EC trains between Zurich and Munich will not run continuously, and a rail replacement strategy is currently being developed.
Due to modernization of the Tauern Tunnel in Austria, night trains to and from Zagreb will continue to be rerouted until July 13th, resulting in longer travel and adjusted arrival and departure times.
For all disruptions and updates, check the official website here. Happy travels!
