Marriott Bonvoy to Stop Transferring Points to Hawaiian Airlines in Coming Months
Starting August 20, 2025, the transfer of Marriott Bonvoy points to HawaiianMiles will no longer be an option due to Hawaiian Airlines' integration with Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan, which is set to occur on October 1, 2025 [2][3]. However, Marriott Bonvoy points will continue to transfer to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan after this date.
After the October 1, 2025 integration:
- HawaiianMiles accounts and miles will be converted 1:1 into Alaska Mileage Plan accounts and miles [1][4].
- The HawaiianMiles program and its unique perks will end, replaced by the unified Mileage Plan benefits and partners [1].
- Marriott points transfers will be supported only to Alaska Mileage Plan, not HawaiianMiles since it no longer exists post-merger [2][3].
In practical terms, you will no longer be able to transfer Marriott points directly to HawaiianMiles (effective August 20, 2025), but you will still be able to transfer Marriott points to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles and use those miles to book awards on the expanded combined network that includes Hawaiian Airlines flights under the Mileage Plan umbrella [2][3].
For award tickets on Hawaiian Airlines specifically, you should transfer Marriott points to Alaska Mileage Plan rather than HawaiianMiles after the August 20, 2025 cutoff date, and use your Mileage Plan miles for redemption. This reflects the consolidation of loyalty programs and the retirement of HawaiianMiles as a separate program [1][2][3].
It's important to note that the historically low value of Hawaiian miles is not encouraging for transferring Marriott points to HawaiianMiles. Additionally, the last day to redeem HawaiianMiles for Marriott Bonvoy points is August 20, 2025.
Meanwhile, the Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines merger is ongoing, and Hawaiian Airlines is ending its partnership with Marriott Bonvoy. Hawaiian Airlines is also planning to join the Oneworld alliance by 2026.
Customers will no longer be able to convert Marriott Bonvoy hotel points into HawaiianMiles from August 2025. The ratio for transferring Marriott Bonvoy points to HawaiianMiles is 3:1. However, transferring Marriott points to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan is now an option, at the same rate as the Hawaiian option. For every 60,000 Marriott points transferred, customers receive 5,000 bonus miles in their Hawaiian Airlines account [2][3].
Despite the changes, customers can continue to earn Mileage Plan miles for stays at Marriott Bonvoy hotels after linking their HawaiianMiles account to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan. Transferring Hawaiian Airlines miles into Alaska Airlines miles is still possible, but after the merger, the feature to transfer Hawaiian Airlines miles into Alaska Airlines miles will no longer exist.
There is currently no message on the Marriott transfer page indicating the partnership's end. Travelers can continue to transfer Marriott points to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan to book Hawaiian Airlines award tickets after August 20.

In light of the impending merger between Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan, effective August 20, 2025, the option to transfer Marriott Bonvoy points to HawaiianMiles will no longer be available. Instead, Marriott Bonvoy points will only be transferable to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan. Moreover, Marriott points can still be utilized for booking award travel on Hawaiian Airlines within the expanded Mileage Plan network.
