LXR Hotels & Resorts' Destination: The Divine Island of Bali

Nestled on Bali's southernmost cliff, the Umana Bali Resort offers a unique blend of luxury, culture, and family-friendly activities. This villa-only resort, owned by Hilton under their LXR brand, boasts spectacular ocean views, private pools, and modern amenities that make it an ideal destination for a distinctive Bali getaway.

The resort opened its doors late last year, marking the debut of the LXR brand in Southeast Asia. Each villa is thoughtfully designed to provide privacy, luxury, and authentic Balinese cultural experiences. The largest villa, the Three-bedroom Umana Ocean View, spans a vast 12,915-sq-ft estate. Inside, guests will find a large living area, dining space, guest bathroom, and an enormous master bathroom with a deep soaking tub, his-and-hers vanities, and a dressing area. Each villa also features an infinity pool, hot tub, spacious deck, lounge chairs, a daybed, alfresco dining space, an outdoor shower, and a blossoming frangipani tree.

The Umana Bali Resort offers a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for both leisure travelers and families. The resort is all-inclusive, providing a variety of amenities and cultural experiences. Adults can enjoy on-site cooking classes and wine, coffee, and arak tastings, while children can participate in activities such as bracelet making, kids’ yoga, puppet shows, and games at the artfully designed kids' club.

The resort is located at a clifftop some 230 ft above Melasti Beach in Ungasan. Guests can easily access the beach, which has a dedicated space with lounge chairs, chilled white wine, and watermelon juice. The beach is also home to an amphitheater, where the traditional Kecak dance originated during the 1930s should not be missed.

The Kecak dance tells the story of Prince Rama and his quest to rescue his wife, Sita, from the demon king Ravana. Unlike traditional Balinese dances, the Kecak dance does not use any musical instruments. Instead, a large group of male performers chant "cak" in various rhythmic patterns. Bales of hay are set alight during the dance, and performers dance right through the flames.

Creating a canang sari, an offering to the gods, is an important part of Balinese daily life. Canang sari offerings are made to give gratitude and demonstrate devotion to the gods. The offerings often include blue or green flowers, which point to Vishnu, described as a blue being, and yellow flowers, which symbolize Mahadeva, who has a third eye on his forehead.

Agus, the rooms division manager at Umana, shares his home with his wife, children, and 26 dogs, many of whom he rescued. Guests at the resort are presented with a bracelet of three intertwining colors - red for creativity, black for reservation, and white for afterlife.

The Umana Bali Resort also features a sauna, steam room, hot-and-cold plunge tubs, and eight treatment rooms including a couple's room. Whether you're looking for a relaxing getaway or a cultural adventure, the Umana Bali Resort offers an unforgettable experience in a serene cliffside environment. Room rates typically start at around $500 per night or 90,000 Hilton Honors points.
