Orient Express Makes a Grand Entrance in Edirne, Turkey
Luxury Train Icon, Orient Express, Arrives in Turkey from Paris
Stepping into a bygone era, the renowned Venice Simplon-Orient Express rolled into Edirne, Turkey on June 4th. Recalling Agatha Christie's timeless novel, "Murder on the Orient Express," the iconic train marked its latest chapter on its journey from Paris to Istanbul.
Embarking from Paris on May 30th, the train traversed scenic stops in Budapest and Bucharest before reaching Edirne with 64 passengers in tow. Welcomed with traditional Turkish flair, the international guests were greeted by a lively folk dance troupe.
"We've traveled from Paris, passed through Budapest and Bucharest, and now we stand in Edirne," said Bruno Janssens, Operations Manager. "Our destination remains Istanbul. Starting this journey in May, we're thrilled to be back on the historic route from Paris to Istanbul," he beamed.
Passenger Rand Mason, an American who loves Turkish TV series, couldn't contain his excitement. "Edirne is one of my favorite countries. This journey is a fantastic opportunity to delve deeper into the captivating histories of the countries I'm visiting," he enthused. "Arriving in Istanbul will undoubtedly be the cherry on top."
John Hajar, a U.S. citizen of Lebanese heritage, shared his appreciation for the journey and the memories it evoked. "Visiting Istanbul again after 40 years brings back a flood of memories. Watching the folk dancers reminds me of the similarities between Turkey and Lebanon in terms of our rich cultural heritage," he reflected.
Upon clearing customs, the Orient Express continued its journey towards Istanbul, immersing passengers further in the charm and mystery of this legendary rail experience.

However, it's safe to say that each destination on this illustrious route offers a captivating glimpse into the ancient histories and vibrant cultures that have flourished along the Orient Express's treasured path.
