Chapter 1 – Sailing Back on the Regal Princess
I had the chance to embark on the Regal Princess once more, to see if my previous experiences measured up. As someone who enjoys cruising, I must say it didn't disappoint! The Regal Princess is one of the larger ships in Princess Cruises' fleet, featuring numerous facilities and amenities that cater to every type of traveler.
Chapter 2 – Taking a Peek at the Cabins
On the ship, there are a total of 1,780 cabins, ranging from comfortable inside cabins to spacious suites. On my recent trip, I stayed in both a balcony cabin and a Mini-Suite. The Balcony cabin was surprisingly spacious, with clever storage solutions that made the best use of the available space. The highlight for me was the comfy Princess Luxury Bed, making for a perfect sleep.
The Mini-Suite was even more spacious, featuring a sofa, a coffee table, two wall-mounted TVs, and a closet that could fit four people comfortably if needed. I definitely felt the upgrade to the Mini-Suite was worth it for the added comfort and amenities.
Chapter 3 – Life on Deck & Activities
Activities and Facilities
There's no shortage of things to do on the Regal Princess! The ship's features include three great pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a sports deck with various options such as basketball, tennis, and a driving range. You'll also find a lively game lounge and an outdoor laser shooting range, as well as plenty of activities throughout the day like dance classes, yoga, and lectures.
Lotus Spa
For some pampering, make sure to visit the Lotus Spa, which offers a range of treatments and a luxurious thermal suite known as The Enclave. If you're in need of some peace and quiet, I highly recommend spending an afternoon at The Sanctuary, an adults-only outdoor area offering loungers and cabanas for hire.
SeaWalk and Casino
Don't miss taking a stroll along SeaWalk, the ship's glass walkway extending 128 feet out over the ocean, and be sure to try your luck at the casino!
Chapter 4 – Entertainment Aboard the Regal Princess
The entertainment on the Regal Princess is top-notch, featuring a variety of live performances and shows every night. Whether you're into classics, comedy, illusionists, or Broadway-style productions, there's something for everyone. There are also nightly fountain shows, movies on the top deck, and plenty of trivia sessions and classes to keep you occupied.
Chapter 5 – Dining Your Way
One of the best things about cruising on the Regal Princess is the food. There's a vast selection of dining options, from casual dining rooms and buffets to specialty restaurants with an additional fee. I highly recommend trying Alfredo's Pizzeria, Ocean Terrace, and Sabatini's in particular!
Chapter 6 – OceanMedallion Experience
Along with numerous other cruise lines, Princess Cruises now utilizes an innovative technology known as OceanMedallion. These tiny devices serve as your room key, allow for contactless boarding, and offer additional convenience through features like delivery service and MedallionClass app capabilities. Chapter 7 – All-Inclusive Options
On my most recent trip, I tried out the All-Inclusive Princess Plus Fare, which includes unlimited Wi-Fi, an all-inclusive drinks package, and crew appreciation, among other perks. It's a great way to save some cash if you think you'll be indulging in plenty of coffee, drinks, and food throughout the cruise.
