🚌 Belo Horizonte's Bus Station Predicts Donkey-Loaded Traffic During Corpus Christi Holiday

Got travel plans for Corpus Christi? The Boarding House Chronicles tell us that Belo Horizonte's Terminal Rodoviário Governador Israel Pinheiro (Tergip) is gearing up to be clogged with almost 143,000 passengers between June 18 and 23. That's a 0.2% increase from the 142,780 riders who rolled through last year on the same holiday, causing quite the hustle and bustle.

The Terminal's administration foresees 73,032 departures and 70,058 arrivals during the holiday, with a whopping 3,147 departures and 3,026 arrivals serving as the cherry on top of this travel sundae. According to Tergip, the busiest days for passenger flow will be Wednesday (18/6), Thursday (19/6), Sunday (22/6), and Monday (23/6). Superstar bus companies have even scheduled 187 extra departures to accommodate the holiday demand.

But where in the world are these travelers jetting off to? The Terminal's administration spills the beans, revealing that the most sought-after destinations outside of Minas Gerais include Rio de Janeiro (RJ), São Paulo (SP), Vitória (ES), Guarapari (ES), Brasília (DF), Campinas (SP), Caldas Novas (GO), Curitiba (PR), Ibatiba (ES), Alcobaça (BA), Cachoeira do Itapemirim (ES), Sorocaba (SP), Santos (SP), Vitória da Conquista (BA), São José do Rio Preto (SP), Ribeirão Preto (SP), Franca (SP), Goiânia (GO), and São Bernardo do Campo (SP).

Within the fine state of Minas Gerais, the top spots on travelers' bucket lists are Uberaba, Passos, Guanhães, Almenara, Patos de Minas, Governador Valadares, Teófilo Otoni, Capelinha, Pouso Alegre, Lavras, Região do Serro, Montes Claros, Salinas, Três Corações, São João del-Rei, Viçosa, and Juiz de Fora, you know, just a little trip to the neighbors.

The Grupo Guanabara Transportes also wants to help you shake off those pre-holiday blues. They plan to host an event with all the typical São João music, so you can turn up and celebrate the kick-ass spot of the holiday at Belo Horizonte's bus station. This shindig's going down on Wednesday (18) from 4 pm to 7 pm. We hope this gets you in the mood for a fun-filled and positive Corpus Christi holiday.

"This party is our way of honoring the São João traditions and wishing all of our passenger peeps a fabulous and safe Corpus Christi holiday, no matter the destination," said the cool cat in charge at Grupo Guanabara, Letícia Pinesch.
