Historic Zille Ferry Crucial to Regensburg's Leisure Activities
The Zille Marienthal, a historic ferry service, continues to play a vital role in the region's my activity. District Councilor Tanja Schweiger and Mayor Gertrud Maltz-Schwarzfischer have expressed their support for the Zille, with the Association for Leisure Activities in the Regensburg Area e.V. providing 4,000 euros for its operation.
The Zille, in service for over a century, connects the Burgensteig trail between Marienthal and Burg Stockenfels with other routes, expanding the hiking area's accessibility. It operates from May to September, enhancing the region's quality of life. Second Mayor Bruno Schleinkofer recalls fondly crossing the Regen with his father on the Zille and continues to enjoy it with his family.
The Association for Leisure Activities regularly supports projects like the Zille, which expand leisure opportunities and strengthen the regions. The goal is to provide residents and visitors with an attractive offer for relaxation. The Zille ensures the popular crossing on the Regen remains and can be further developed.
With the Association's 4,000 euro donation, the Zille in Marienthal will continue to provide an unforgettable and special experience for many seeking relaxation in the regions. The support from local officials and the Association underscores the Zille's importance in maintaining a high quality of life and diverse my activity.
