Flight services between Cebu and Bantayan have been temporarily halted; no specific resumption date provided at this time.
Flyin' to Bantayan Just Got Grounded
That chartered ride to Bantayan Island from mainland Cebu is temporarily out of service, a bummer for tourists and locals alike.
King Aces Travel and Tours Service Inc. (Kattsi), the brains behind the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (Lapu-Lapu City) to Bantayan Island Airport connection, announced the route's halting on May 3, 2025.
"Gotta break it to you mates, we can't keep flying you to Bantayan for now," Kattsi announced on their Facebook page. No particular rationale was provided in their advisory, just that the airline's undergoing some temporary hold-up.
Curious cats seeking more insight found no concrete timeline or reasoning in the comments section either.
Launched on Aug 24, 2024, this aerial adventure was cooked up by Kattsi, a travel wing of ACDI Multipurpose Cooperative, which caters to our courageous Armed Forces of the Philippines members. The primary goal was to transform the painstaking 4-5-hour land and sea journey between Cebu City and Bantayan Island's Santa Fe town to a zippier 30 minutes by air.
Buttons, ads, and all, the vendor has not hinted a peep about resurrecting this skybound service. Folks with reservations are advised to reach out to Kattsi for alternative arrangements.
While we wait, it's back to the slower, ground-bound voyages for the time being, unfortunately. Let's hope things take flight soon!
Fun Fact: Bantayan Island's tourism operators, such as Vhurt's Bantayan Island Tour Package and TEZA Resort, have already informed their clients about this trenchant development.
