Deutsche Bahn Warns of Crowded Trains During Sunny Long Weekend

Deutsche Bahn has issued travel advice for the upcoming long weekend, with increased passenger numbers expected due to sunny weather and major folk festivals across Germany. Trains are set to be particularly crowded on Thursday, Friday morning, and Sunday.

Passengers are urged to plan their journeys carefully. Deutsche Bahn recommends checking train occupancy before traveling and considering off-peak hours for cheaper fares and less crowded carriages. Additionally, passengers are asked to be considerate of fellow travelers by removing luggage from seats and reducing the number of bicycles brought along.

Several construction sites in the network may cause delays. Notably, a 30-minute delay is expected between Stuttgart and Munich until Saturday. Despite these potential disruptions, trains are expected to run as usual on Saturday following scheduled repairs.

With many trains already fully booked for the long weekend, Deutsche Bahn advises passengers to be patient and flexible. The long weekend, sunny weather, and popular folk festivals such as Oktoberfest in Munich and Freimarkt in Bremen are expected to draw large crowds. Passengers are encouraged to stay informed about their journeys and plan accordingly.
