Charanga Opens First Dubai Store, Plans 21 Gulf Stores by 2015
Children's fashion brand Charanga has expanded its global footprint with a new store opening in Dubai. The company plans to open up to 21 stores in the Gulf region by 2015, as part of its ambitious international growth strategy.
Charanga, which manufactures around four million garments a year, aims to open 150 stores abroad in the coming years. The goal is to increase the weight of exports on its turnover to 50%.
The Dubai store, Charanga's first in the region, is located in The Dubai Mall. It opened on December 2 in partnership with a local associate. Charanga's next international opening is scheduled for mid-December in Bahrain, also through a franchise model.
Charanga has signed an agreement to open 21 stores in countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Qatar over the next four years. This expansion follows Charanga closing the 2010 financial year with a turnover of €38.4 million and having a network of 230 stores worldwide.
Charanga's Dubai store opening marks a significant step in the company's international growth. With plans to open up to 21 stores in the Gulf region by 2015, Charanga is well on its way to achieving its goal of increasing the weight of exports on its turnover to 50%.
