In the dynamic world of travel and tourism, Russia has seen a significant shift in its booking patterns. According to recent data, Uzbekistan leads the charge in international bookings, accounting for 21% of the total, followed closely by Turkey with 12%. Kazakhstan, China, and Russia's neighbouring countries Armenia and Georgia each hold 6% and 5% respectively, while Japan accounts for 4% of international bookings in Russia.

Domestically, Russia's tourism landscape is also evolving. A notable trend is the increasing number of families taking vacations. Every ninth tourist traveling within Russia is accompanied by children, making up 11% of bookings. The top "family" destination in Russia is Sochi, a city known for its picturesque Black Sea coast and numerous family-friendly attractions.

Sochi and Mineralnye Vody, both located within Krasnodar Krai, are popular destinations for tourists. The average stay for visitors in these locations is up to 10 days, reflecting the region's appeal for extended vacations. Krasnodar Krai consistently ranks among the leaders in domestic tourism, alongside Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Tatarstan.

The extended stays in Krasnodar Krai are not unusual. The average trip duration in the region is longer than the national average, with tourists staying for an average of one week. This trend is also mirrored in international trips, where the average duration is 10 days.

The Sochi International Airport, as per Aviasales statistics, is the hub for international travellers visiting the region. International trips account for 45% of all bookings in Russia, indicating a growing interest in exploring the country's diverse destinations.

As Russia continues to attract tourists both domestically and internationally, the focus on family-friendly destinations and extended stays is a positive sign for the country's tourism industry. With its rich history, stunning landscapes, and diverse culture, Russia offers a unique and memorable travel experience for visitors from around the world.
