Airport's primary terminal to become fully functional from March 31st
The long-awaited new terminal at Kamchatka's main airport is set to begin servicing flights from March 31. The terminal, spanning an impressive 50,000 square meters, is designed to accommodate up to 1,145 passengers per hour.
All commissioning works have been completed at the new terminal, ensuring it is ready for passenger reception. Cleaning work is currently underway to prepare the terminal for its grand opening.
In preparation for the arrival of passengers, zones for tourist buses, passengers with reduced mobility, and both long-term and short-term parking will be put in order in the warm season. The terminal is also equipped with five telescopic passenger boarding bridges, with the possibility of increasing their number to eight in the future.
The terminal will house a variety of amenities, including a hotel, souvenir shops, clothing stores, leisure goods, and various food outlets.
Landscaping work will be carried out at the new terminal in the near future. The enterprise has purchased a hydroseeding machine for this purpose, and plant seedlings brought in two years ago have successfully adapted to the climatic conditions of Kamchatka Krai. All necessary seeds and seedlings are already on the territory of the region for the landscaping work.
A test reception of a morning flight by Aeroflot is scheduled for March 28, marking the start of regular interregional and local flights at the new terminal. Parking for short-term and long-term vehicle storage will be available on the square in front of the terminal.
Planting at the new terminal is scheduled for early June, following the completion of construction work. The greening of the terminal area is an important step in creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for passengers.
As the new terminal prepares to open its doors, the people of Kamchatka Krai can look forward to a modern, efficient, and comfortable travel experience.
