I made it to Baikal, and in Ulan-Ude, I was scheduled to hook up with a Romanian livin' there, Marius," he continued.
Together, those two Romanians plowed through another 3,000 km in a speedy four days.
Craçaun, a seasoned driver, didn't bolster his Dacia Duster 3 with any fancy modifications for the trip. He even braved driving 10 km over a frozen river. He refueled a whopping 75 times over 53 days, burnin' through 2,423 liters of gas, and always kept a trusted fueling station within arm's reach.
The grand total for this unforgettable expedition? A cool €4,500. Fuel alone set him back €1,750, while accommodation cost him a tidy €1,050. Craçaun also dropped an additional €1,200 on unforeseen costs like fines and new tires. But still, he reckons, that's a bargain for this extravaganza.
"If I exclude the €1,200 I blew on unexpected hiccups, the trip cost me around €3,200-€3,300. Considerin' the number of kilometers and days, I figure that's a pretty decent deal," the Romanian wanderer said.
